Story Teller, Folk Singer, Actress, Crowd-Tamer...

Deborah writes, creates and performs stories, guided walks and cabaret pieces for theatres, festivals, schools and weird and wonderful events all year round.

She burst out of Birmingham armed with a bucketload of stories and songs from her Anglo-Irish family, a dirty laugh and a way with an audience.

Quick witted and charismatic, Deborah can enthral a 55 year old and charm a 5 year old (often at the same time), command an audience of 1000 at Shakespeare's Globe and warm the heart of even the most jaded, rain-sodden festival goer.

She can deliver anything from a bawdy story-and-song evening for an adult audience to a specially written story telling walk for families in your local park. She can light up any sized space, from a tiny paint cupboard in Goldsmiths College (Tea Ceremony) to the whole of Hampstead Heath (Halloween Story Walk 2007).

Deborah is currently Storyteller-in-Residence at Cecil Sharp House, home of the English Folk Dance and Song Society. This is the first residency the society have ever awarded. She's quite chuffed about this!

So, if you need a story told, an event compèred, a song sung or a crowd tamed, you can contact Debs for more details and bookings.
